Get to know us

Hi, we’re Arvin and Marjolein.

And yes, we really did sell the house.

A few years ago, we had the life that’s supposed to make you happy. A home, a routine, a plan. And somewhere in the middle of all that, we kept asking ourselves the same quiet question: is this it?

It wasn’t a crisis. It was more like a slow, honest realisation that we wanted something different for our family. More time outside. More presence. More freedom to let our kids grow up at their own pace, in the world instead of in a classroom.

So in April 2026, we sold most of what we owned, packed the rest into our caravan, and drove away. Our kids in the back. Our little poodle Bodi at their feet. And absolutely no idea what the next month would look like, which, it turns out, is exactly the point.

What life looks like now:

We travel slowly through Europe, following rivers, forests,
and mountains instead of a fixed schedule. Our kids learn by
living maths beside a lake in Switzerland, history at a castle
in France, biology in every forest we park next to.
We call it homeschooling, but most days it just feels like
paying attention.

We eat plant-based, we try to live with less, and we make choices
that feel good for our bodies, our kids, and the places we pass
through. Not because we have it all figured out, but because
these things matter to us.

Bodi, our grey-and-white toy poodle, has strong opinions about
every campsite. He’s become something of an unofficial
quality inspector.

What we share here:

The beautiful moments, but also the hard days, the tight budgets, and the things nobody tells you about living on the road. We believe that real stories are more useful than perfect ones.

If you’re curious about this kind of life or already living it, you’re in the right place.

Whether you’re dreaming of a different life or just curious what ours looks like — welcome to our world..
